Cardiology

Our cardiologists care for the heart conditions that turn up at a routine physical and the ones that bring you in worried. Because our cardiac testing suite is in the same building, an abnormal finding can usually be worked up without a referral somewhere else.

Conditions we manage

  • High blood pressure and high cholesterol — long-term management aimed at lowering your overall cardiac risk.
  • Chest pain and shortness of breath — evaluation to determine whether symptoms are cardiac in origin.
  • Palpitations and rhythm disorders — including atrial fibrillation.
  • Heart failure and valve disease — ongoing monitoring and medication management.
  • Post-event follow-up — continued care after a heart attack, stent, or cardiac procedure.

Testing in the same visit

EKG, echocardiography, and stress testing are performed on site, so the physician who ordered the study is often reviewing it before you leave. Lab work is drawn here as well.

If your care needs an interventional cardiologist or a vascular surgeon, both practice in this building and can see your full record.

When to see a cardiologist

A cardiology review is worthwhile even when you feel well. Request an appointment if any of these apply:

  • Family history of heart disease — particularly in a parent or sibling.
  • Heart symptoms — chest pain, palpitations, shortness of breath, dizziness, or swelling in the legs should be evaluated promptly.
  • Age over 40 — cardiovascular risk climbs with age, so regular checks are worth keeping up.
  • Existing risk factors — high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, obesity, or smoking.
  • A sedentary or high-stress routine — both affect the heart, and both can be worked on.

Cardiology care here is led by Dr. Vladimir Fridman, a board-certified cardiologist with experience in both cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology.
