Spirometry & Pulmonary Function Testing

Spirometry measures how much air you can move and how fast. It is the objective test behind most breathing diagnoses, and it is done in our office.

What it establishes

  • Asthma — airway narrowing, and whether it improves with a bronchodilator.
  • COPD — obstruction that does not fully reverse, with severity graded.
  • Treatment response — repeat testing that shows whether a controller medication is working.

Results are reviewed at the same visit by your primary care or allergy provider, so the plan can change before you leave.
