OCT Angiography
OCT Angiography
OCT angiography maps the blood vessels of the retina without injecting dye. It shows circulation layer by layer, which conventional photography cannot do.
Why it matters
- Diabetic retinopathy — areas of poor circulation identified early.
- Vascular occlusions — blocked retinal vessels mapped precisely.
- Macular degeneration — abnormal new vessel growth detected without a dye study.
For patients with diabetes, this is one of the clearest early windows onto how well the condition is controlled overall.
