Corneal Topography
Corneal Topography
Corneal topography maps the curvature of the front surface of the eye in fine detail, producing a contour map of the cornea.
Where it is used
- Contact lens fitting — particularly for irregular or hard-to-fit corneas.
- Astigmatism — measured precisely rather than estimated.
- Corneal disease — detecting thinning and distortion such as keratoconus.
The scan is quick, requires no contact with the eye, and informs both everyday prescriptions and surgical planning.
