CBCT 3D Imaging (Planmeca)

Patient having a Planmeca CBCT 3D scan taken at Be Well Primary Health Care Center

CBCT 3D Imaging

Cone beam computed tomography captures the teeth, both jaws, the sinuses, and the airway as a three-dimensional volume in a single short scan on our Planmeca unit.

What it is used for

  • Implant planning — bone height, bone width, and nerve position measured in three dimensions.
  • Impacted and wisdom teeth — the exact position of a tooth before surgery.
  • Root canal, jaw joint, and sinus assessment — detail a flat X-ray cannot show.

The scan takes well under a minute, you stay standing and upright throughout, and the images are on the screen for your dentist to review with you before you leave.
