Urology
Urology
Our urologists treat conditions of the urinary tract in men and women, and of the male reproductive system. These are the symptoms people put off mentioning, and most of them are treatable.
What we treat
- Urinary frequency and urgency — including symptoms that interrupt sleep.
- Enlarged prostate — medical and procedural treatment.
- Prostate cancer screening — PSA testing and evaluation of abnormal results.
- Kidney stones — treatment and prevention, coordinated with nephrology.
- Recurrent urinary tract infections — finding the underlying cause.
- Incontinence — evaluation and treatment for men and women.
- Erectile dysfunction and male fertility — evaluation including related hormonal causes.
Testing and procedures on site
Urinalysis and blood work are processed through our own lab, and ultrasound is performed in the building. Office-based and outpatient procedures are done at our ambulatory surgery center.
Because urologic symptoms often trace back to diabetes, kidney disease, or blood pressure, care is coordinated with those specialists here.
When to see a urologist
Urinary symptoms are worth raising early, however awkward they feel to bring up. Request an appointment for:
- Blood in the urine.
- Pain or discomfort when urinating.
- Frequent urination, or difficulty urinating.
- Cloudy or strong-smelling urine.
- Urine leakage.
- Abdominal, back, or side pain.
- Pelvic pain or pressure.
Our urology specialists are Dr. Payam Hakimian and Etwaru Dhanan, who treat urinary tract conditions in men, women, and children.
